Coda Media Welcomes Media Innovation Leader David Carrico to Board of Directors
January 13, 2025 — Coda Media announces the appointment of David Carrico, a pioneering entrepreneur and producer at the intersection of technology and media, to its Board of Directors. This strategic addition strengthens Coda’s position as it reimagines journalism for the digital age.
“David’s deep understanding of both media innovation and scaling digital ventures makes him an ideal addition to our board,” said Natalia Antelava, Coda’s Co-founder and CEO. “His expertise will be invaluable as we expand our mission of delivering impactful journalism that helps audiences make sense of our complex world.”
Carrico brings extensive experience in building and scaling transformative media companies. He founded EVNTLIVE, the groundbreaking live concert streaming platform acquired by Yahoo!, and co-founded both PrimeMind digital magazine and Valparaiso Pictures, the independent studio later acquired by Annapurna Pictures. Under his leadership, Valparaiso produced several acclaimed works including the Independent Spirit Award-winning PIG, Sundance honoree On the Count of Three, and Emmy-nominated Toxic Pigs of Fukushima.
Most recently, Carrico served as COO of Speakeasy AI, the social AI company acquired by Project Liberty. He currently focuses on advising and investing in early-stage technology and media ventures.
