Sara Kontar is a Syrian artist, photographer, and filmmaker based in France since 2016. Her work explores exile, identity, and immigration through documentary and experimental photography, installation, and cinema. She holds a Master’s degree in Animation Cinema from ENSAD Paris (2023) and has exhibited internationally, including at Palais de Tokyo and Sharjah Art Foundation. She has received awards such as the Inge Morath Award and founded Al-Ayoun in 2021, a platform connecting Syrian visual storytellers.
